338112282_df9964b293_m.jpg‘Tis the season for Whistler ski vacations, and with the amount of snow that Mother Nature has so graciously dropped over Whistler BC Canada, travelers to the area can expect mid-season snow conditions without waiting. Plus, with the recent completion of all three venues for the 2010 Olympics in Whistler, Canadian winter sport athletes can train on the sites two seasons before the 2010 Winter Games. The three venues, Whistler Sliding Centre, the Whistler Olympic Park, and Whistler Creekside, were all finished early and on budget. (more…)

Whistler Accommodations on Facebook

It’s no secret that a Whistler ski vacation is one of the highest rated experiences in the world. This link shows the results of the latest poll from a top notch travel magazine. If you’re anything like me, the opinions of everyday people who travel to places like Whistler Canada play a key part in my decision making process. I often rely on positive and negative examples from folks in my peer group to find the best Whistler accommodations. 362527788_a603f4195b_m.jpgWhen people come to Whistler BC Canada for their ski vacation, they want to relax and have fun. They also want to make sure their belongings are safe when not in use. It’s impractical to expect travelers to Whistler Blackcomb in Whistler, British Columbia Canada to return to their respective Whistler accommodations to take a break from their time on the slopes. They want you to come in, sit down, and enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate while you warm your cold body and regain energy for the next round of fun on the slopes. Now, an added convenience to snow sport enthusiasts will keep equipment from disappearing while they lay neatly stacked in ski racks: the Whistler Bait Ski and Snowboard Program. (more…)

I’m dreaming of a Whistler Vacation

68711840_369bb7969c_m.jpgIt’s been a long couple of weeks in my neck of the woods. Two and a half weeks ago, my oldest child (who is 4), came down with the chicken pox just in time for Thanksgiving. Our traditional way to celebrate is to travel to be with family, a crowd of about 20 including aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Not this year. No biggie, except that by the end of the week, in addition to the chicken pox, she had a raging ear infection and my youngest child, who just turned 3, had a horrendous cough. It was right about then that visions of Whistler British Columbia Canada started to pop into my head. All I needed was a plane ticket and a reservation to stay at any area Whistler Vacation rental. Mentally, I was already there breaking in my new skis and loving every minute of the cold, crisp air entering my lungs. (more…)
