Araxi restaurant is receiving world wide exposure from its competition for head chef on popular reality food show Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen.
Chef Gordon Ramsay of Hell’s Kitchen if offering the grand prize to the winning chef a position as Head Chef at Araxi restaurant, who will also soon need to find a place to stay or Whistler rental when taking on the new Head Chef job at the restaurant. The new head chef will cook under Araxi’s executive Chef James Walt, and alongside his skilled brigade.
The winning contestant of Hell’s Kitchen this season will also be introduced to the Whistler region, touring adjacent Pemberton Valley farms and ranches, and meeting with our suppliers and local purveyors of fish and game. The timing of this episode is ideal for the winning head chef as Whistler will be hosting the 2010 winter Olympic games in Feb to March of 2010.
Chef James Walk, Araxi’s executive chef, delivers the finest local ingredients from the local farms in Pemberton to the backward Pacific Ocean; popular for for some of the worlds best fresh salmon and dungeness crab. Chef James Walk promotes a seasonal rotation of cuisines that bring out the flavours of each special ingredient. This combination makes Araxi one of the longest held reputations from around the world for its excellence in hospitality, wine and food. The extensive wine collection is comprised of over 1,500 labels and “seamless” service is directed by Steve Edwards. 
The dining experience at Araxi restaurant offers a relaxing ambiance, complimented with an array of flowers and fine art. Araxi also offers an neighoring bar popular for local skiers, boarders in the winter, and mountain bikers and hikers in the summer, after a long day down the snowy slopes of Whistler Blackcomb mountain.
Araxi’s patio is a central hub in the summer time located in the middle of Whistler village, surrounded by patio’s of other restaurants in Whistler and neighboring shops. For those coming directly off the ski hill at the base of Whistler Blackcomb mountain, you cannot miss Araxi’s patio as you walk down the cobble street path only 5 minutes away.
The cuisine at Araxi is one that would please any palate. The Whistler restaurant offers a beautiful selection of dishes from the their oyster raw bar as black pearl oysters, kusshi, chef’s creek oysters, royal miyagi oysters and pacific oysters. Other raw bar menu items include two tier seafood tower, arazi three tier seafood tower, wild seafood trio, arctic char lax, venison tartare, dungeness crab roll and albocore tuna duo.
Arazi’s main plate menu offers Yukon Artice Char, herb cursted BC halibut, qualicum beach scallops, Canada prime beef ternderloin, roasted loin of venison, confit of spring lamb, sloping hills park and wild mushroom risotto.
