Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Sun Peaks!

Located in south central British Columbia, and a 50-kilometer drive from Kamloops, Sun Peaks Resort is one of the best places in Canada to celebrate the New Year.

Sun Peaks Resort

Sun Peaks Resort is one of British Columbia’s best ski resorts, with consistent snowfalls each year between November and March. Sun Peaks boasts over 3,500 acres of terrain, making it one of Canada’s largest ski resorts (coming just behind Whistler, which is the largest). Sun Peaks resort averages 5.6m of snowfall every year, and is known to be fairly consistent, so visitors are guaranteed some great skiing.

Terrain in Sun Peaks Resort varies from beginner runs (about 10% of the runs) right through to expert runs, with the majority suiting intermediate skiers, meaning there is something for everyone to enjoy. Whistler Skiing

Whistler offers the largest ski resort in British Columbia, Canada, and possesses over 8000 acres of terrain on both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. It has continually been rated as the number one ski resort in all of North America, so for skiing it can’t be beaten!

Options for Whistler Skiers
There are skiing lessons and snowboarding lessons available at Whistler for all adults and children, no matter what level of experience. Currently, there are more than 200 trails at Whistler, accessed via 38 lifts. Whistler also boasts over 10m of snow on average each year, meaning that there are fantastic skiing conditions for the majority of the season which lasts from November until August.

Get Ready for the Whistler Ski Season Opener!

The ski season opens annually in Whistler, British Columbia the weekend following the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday (the fourth week in November).  In 2009, it falls in November 27, for the 2009/2010 ski season.
