Whistler Ski Resort

Whistler Ski Resort is consistently rated as one of the world’s best ski resorts, and for good reason. Whistler provides consistent winter snowfall, and more runs than you can hope to cover in a week. Whistler’s also a great family friendly destination with something for everyone.

For the kids there are adventure zones, a play fort and more, and of course there are lessons for kids to help them develop their skiing and snowboarding skills. There are also plenty of activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family while visiting the Whistler Ski Resort.

Getting to Whistler Ski Resort
The Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort is located just 1.5 hours from Vancouver. Guests can fly to Vancouver and travel to the resort by shuttle, or can fly directly to Whistler. Once you’re in Whistler Village you can get almost everywhere on foot (or on skis), with the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas conveniently located nearby.

The Whistler and Blackcomb slopes are really something to experience, with over 200 trails and more than 8000 acres of terrain, there are 38 lifts and gondolas providing easy transportation to wherever you want to ski or snowboard. The Whistler ski season generally opens in November, and quite often stays open until June (depending on the weather conditions), so there’s months of skiing to be had in Whistler.

Whistler offers numerous accommodation types and packages, from hotels to condos and private home rentals. Many people choose to stay right in Whistler Village, where they can leave their hotel and be on the gondolas within minutes. Other accommodation choices are out of Whistler Village, but there are usually shuttles running frequently, so getting to the slopes takes just a few short minutes.

Many Whistler hotels have holiday deals and packages, making staying at Whistler more affordable. Some provide free nights and others give a percentage discount depending on the length of your stay in Whistler.

The Whistler Executive Inn
If you want to stay right in the heart of Whistler Village, then try the Executive Inn, a European style hotel which is just a minute away from ski lifts, nightlife, as well as Whistler Villages numerous shops, restaurants and clubs. Umberto’s Restaurant is just off the front desk and offers delicious Tuscan cuisine. There are several room options ranging from a studio suite to a Master Suite. All rooms contain Cable TV, a coffee maker, wood fireplace, fridge, kettle, kitchenette, and a two burner stove and toaster oven.
