Ski Cross and Bobsled Gold

Seven years ago Ashleigh McIvor wrote an essay for her English class on why ski cross should be a part of the Olympic games, and this year she showed the world just how serious she is about the sport. Skiing during a blizzard at Cypress, McIvor became the first female gold medalist for the sport. Cypress is located in Whistler, BC, where friends, family and fans from around the world can stay at one of the many luxurious accommodations available.
“I’m so thrilled, this is best moment of my entire life,” said an exuberant ashMcIvor, with her cheeks rosy red and a smile from ear to ear.
She felt from the start that she would win, and she did. At first she was worried that kind of thinking would jinx her, but she couldn’t help it, she just knew she would get the gold. She knows the mountain and she worked very hard to give it her all.
Another gold medal was won by the women’s bobsled team, Heather Moyse and Kaillie Humphries. They also had a very good feeling. Feeling confident that they would do well. A good attitude sometimes goes a long way. Everyone has off days, but when you wake up feeling great, great things can happen!
“Kaillie and I are running on about three hours sleep since Wednesday,” Moyse said. “We’re laughing at things that aren’t even funny. We’re just riding high on the adrenaline. It’s still a bit surreal trying to find the meaning behind all this.”heatkal

Moyse and Humphries were paired up after the Turin games and have become as close as sisters. The two plan to take a girls only trip to Vegas before they return to regular life. For a while anyway, until the world touring begins. Humphries husband, retired from competitive sports, won’t be joining his wife on the tour. Making her one more athlete traveling the world without her spouse.
