These festivals are specifically set up to celebrate the wonderful fruits that originate from the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. The festivals span from January to October.

The January wine festival in Sun Peaks BC is popularly called the Icewine festival. The acclaimed ski resort is equally famous for its fine food and wine traditions. It is a festival that has some of Sun Peak’s best wine makers. You can enjoy your fine blended wine on top of the snow covered mountain. Celebrations usually run from January 16 – 24. Interesting programs include Winemaster Dinners, Seminars, Progressive Tastings, Sun Peaks taste and mixology and are all sure to make the festival a memorable event.

The month of May is reserved for the spring wine festival. This festival observes the outstanding flavours of wine and food originating in Sun Peak BC and its surrounding area. The festival kicks of on the May 24 (Victoria Day) weekend – and celebrates the beginning of a new growing season.

July 1 (Canada Day) kicks off another celebration of wine culture festivals. Festivals closely knitted with arts, music, crafts and wines, complemented with educative seminars and workshops. Visitors are briefed about the uniqueness of this festival and encouraged to play there own quota. Interesting and cool activities include chairlift rides, local canteen tours, wine and food tasting. You will also get to experience tons of public art exhibitions and other unique activities to make Canada Day even more exciting!

All that wine and excitement will make you anxious to get back to your for some well deserved R&R! Not so fast! You’ll miss the fireworks! Holiday weekends are not complete without the fireworks! But, then again, you will have a great view from your room.
