BBQ Champions in Whistler

Jamie Oliver will love this! From July 29 to 31, Whistler is celebrating a decade of BBQ mania. World champions will gather in a face-off at Dusty’s throughout the weekend. The battle is to BBQ up the tastiest pork shoulder, beef brisket, chicken and pork ribs. Contestants cook up their fare to win prizes and cash and passes to the Jack Daniel’s World Championship BBQ contest in Tennessee and Kansas City’s American Royal World Championships. (more…)

Whistler Mystery Continues: It Was a Bear, I Swear

There’ no sign of evidence that Jeremy Almond, a Whistler man, was attacked by a bear on June 27. Conservation officers for public safety still say that there was no bear attack. The man on the other end of this story says different. Jeffery Almond was on his way home on the night of June 27 and is positive that whatever hit him over the head was indeed a black bear.

Bear at Whistler Swipes at Man

Sometimes taking a short cut can end up being a bad idea. A man decided to take a shorter route into the woods in the neighborhood of Bayshores after a party on June 27 and though he can’t recall a lot, between himself and his doctor they have come to the conclusion that his wounds look like they are from a bear.

A University in Whistler?
