Sun Peaks Resort has a lot on offer during the winter ski season, and as usual the ski season opener at Sun Peaks is a great one. Sun Peaks is one of British Columbia’s biggest ski resorts, and it regularly receives great snowfalls for the winter ski season.
The ski season opening is one of the best times to visit, because it’s before the big winter rush really starts, but there’s still enough snow to enjoy great skiing and snowboarding conditions.
Sun Peaks Winter Entertainment
Every year thousands of visitors visit both Sun Peaks and Whistler resorts, both of which are known for their fantastic ski fields. Sun Peaks has over 3500 acres of snow, combining open bowls, steep runs, moguls, as well as a terrain park with a kids’ learning area and three zones.
Sun Peaks also provides entertainment for everyone, with plenty of other things to do in the snow for those who are tired of skiing and snowboarding. There’s dog sledding, ice skating, snow shoeing, tubing, snowmobiling and more.
Sun Peaks Resort has plenty of great accommodation options, ranging from lodges and hotels to condos, chalets and B&Bs.
The Coast Sundance Lodge
The Coast Sundance Lodge at Sun Peaks is a great hotel, located right at the base of the Sundance Express Chairlift, meaning you can truly ski in and ski out. The hotel has well appointed rooms and lofts, as well as one and two bedroom suites. All rooms have a fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, and high speed Internet. Many rooms have balconies with mountain views (which may be available on request). Restaurants on site include Bottom’s Bar & Grill, the Bolacco Café, and the Vertical Juice & Smoothie company. Naturally, there are other dining options at the Sun Peaks Resort not far from the hotel.
The Delta Sun Peaks Resort
The Delta Sun Peaks Resort is another great option for staying at Sun Peaks. It’s a full service luxury hotel, with a health club for guests which features three outdoor hot tubs, an outdoor heated swimming pool (which can be accessed indoors), two massage rooms, a sauna and a fully equipped gym. Delta Sun Peaks has its own restaurant, Mantles Restaurant & Lounge, which serves Pacific Northwest cuisine. All rooms have beds with fluffy down duvets, guests are provided with thick terry robes, and all rooms are fully equipped with cable TV, in room movies, video games and music, coffee machines, two telephones, and high speed Internet.
