Whistler Blackcomb Gondola CollapsesThe day before the first winter snow storm hits Vancouver, and Whistler gets its first causality.

Whistler, BC, Canada, home of the 2010 winter Olympics, was hit with an unfortunate accident when 10 people were injured after skiers and snowboarders were evacuated from this ski hill, when the Whistler Excalibur Gondola support tower collapsed.

Not the best image Whistler wants to portray considering this will be the home of the Olympic site. The Whistler Blackcomb gondola tower snapped in half, leaving no threatening injuries to its passengers. However, more than 50 skiers and snowboarders were rescued during this incident. After 2 years of campaigning, and winning America’s votes 297 to 155 on a historic evening of November 4th, what better way to wind down before stepping into a country in an economic dissarray, but to take in some well deserved rest and relaxation in a luxury vacation rental in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.
